Claims & loss

Loss & damage assessment.

When electronics and appliances are affected by a property loss, evaluation comes first. We inspect each item to assess salvageability, then clean, repair or restore suitable items on site where the damage, safe site access, feasibility and approval allow.

What the service does

Evaluate damage before choosing the next action.

Loss assignments can involve non-hazardous water, smoke and soot, heat, impact, power events, transport damage or uncertain operating condition. Contaminated-water, biohazard and other hazardous conditions are outside this service scope and require referral to an appropriately equipped provider.

Each accepted item receives an identity record, photographs, condition observations and applicable approved checks. Salvageable and non-salvageable findings are supported by the observed damage and completed checks, with uncertainty stated where further evaluation is needed. Not every item can be restored.

Approved on-site work

Suitable items may be cleaned, repaired or restored on site after the evaluation and scope are approved. Safe access, working conditions and feasibility must support the proposed work. Applicable final checks follow the work, and the item-level record documents what was done, the results, remaining limitations and recommended next action. Client-supplied information remains separate from inspection findings.

Typical deliverables

  • Item description, make, model and serial number where available
  • Reported loss event and item location
  • Visual condition and exposure indicators observed
  • Salvageable or non-salvageable finding, with reasons and any uncertainty
  • Approved on-site cleaning, repair or restoration completed
  • Inspection and final checks completed, with results
  • Indexed photo references
  • Limitations and recommended next action

Important boundary

This service is not product certification, licensed engineering, formal appraisal, origin-and-cause investigation or an electrical-safety approval. Where a requested conclusion exceeds the agreed scope or qualifications, the report should recommend escalation to the appropriate specialist.

What strong reporting changes

Less ambiguity at the handoff.

A useful assessment lets the recipient see what was reported, what was observed, what was checked and where uncertainty remains.

Claims

Faster file review

Decision-makers can review outcome and evidence without reconstructing the inspection.

Restoration

Defined on-site scope

Item-level evaluation identifies suitable cleaning, repair or restoration work and documents items that cannot be salvaged.

Policyholder

Plain-language explanation

Item-level notes make the assessment easier to understand and discuss.
